This motorcycle has to be one of the most iconic British bikes ever made. Steve McQueen owned one, and there are numerous pictures of him riding it, and looking extraordinarily cool. His bike sold for $100,000 at auction in 2007.Whilst our version may not be as valuable, it is still a great opportunity to own a wonderful part of our motorcycle heritage
We found the bike in the US. It was sporting a custom paint job in black and grey, but we decided to repaint it in its original colours for the 1967 model year. We bought the correct cellulose paint from MS Motorcycles in Warwickshire and the four different paints have been applied. The paint is Aubergine with Alaskan White over Silver Sheen, finished with gold pinstriping; the correct paint for US models in the latter part of 1967.
The bike has also had some other modifications from stock; it is running on Mikuni carburettors (considered by many to be preferable to the original Amals), it has lower bars than the stock T120R, and it has a slightly earlier style seat.
The bike has matching numbers, starts first or second kick and is a joy to ride. It has been registered in the UK, MOTd and taxed. It is ready to ride away.
