We have recently acquired an excellent, original, low mileage 1981 Laverda Mirage from a collector in Surrey.
We hold a comprehensive history for this bike with old MOTs, receipts for work done and copies of old V5s present. The bike was first registered in the UK in March 1981 and seems to have remained here all its life, although the speedometer is in kilometres. It has travelled only 20,000 kilometres from new, and only 6,000 in the last 20 years. It has however been maintained during this period, and kept on the road, according to the MOTs held going back to 1992, with only the odd year missing.
We have given the bike an overhaul to ensure that it is running correctly, as well as changing the rearsets that had been added to the bike back to the stock items. The previous owner added the racing seat shown in the photos which is almost new. We also have the original seat.
These bikes were a development from the legendary Jota, and are considered by some to be a superior bike. Whether or not this is the case, one thing we are sure of is that this must be one of the best original Mirages around. In addition, it can be acquired at a considerable discount to the price of a Jota.
