1970 Norton Commando Roadster 750

As A28 Classics has now ceased trading due to retirement, we have decided to sell off some of the motorbikes that we have kept in our own personal collection.

One of these is a 1972 Commando Roadster that we acquired and restored in 2018.  This bike was originally sold to the US and was imported back to the UK in 2013, as shown on the V5. It is matching frame and engine numbers 206326, which corresponds to manufacture in the year 1972.

We decided that this bike was a sound basis for a restoration as it started easily and ran and handled well following the work that had been carried out by the previous owner, which included fitting electronic ignition.

We then gave the bike to Windmill Garage to carry out a comprehensive renovation which included the following:

  • Restore and refit stands

  • Restore and repaint frame

  • Restore and renew isolastic mounts

  • Rebuild both wheels with stainless steel rims and spokes

  • Fit new front and rear mudguards and restore chainguard

  • Various works to oil tank and system

  • Various works to renew front and rear brakes

  • Fit new headlight and wiring loom

  • Repaint tank and side panels in black with gold lettering

  • Refit and repair original carburettors

  • New throttle and choke cables

We have original invoices for all this work and the total spent was over £4,000. Since this work was undertaken the bike has travelled only a further 150 miles or so.  The odometer is currently showing 25,187 miles.

The bike remains in excellent condition and is ready for its new owner to ride away. It comes with a few spares including a single carb conversion kit.

Price £9,450
